Weekly Update: 9/13/09

We are very excited about the new representatives, and we look forward to seeing their accomplishments over the upcoming academic year.

The representatives have been submitting to the E-board ideas they have for projects to work on during the upcoming semester; the E-board will assign each rep to a specific project group in the upcoming days; these project groups of 5-6 reps are the primary way through which the YCC tackles different initiatives.

Thank you for reading our first weekly update! The E-Board has been working hard to prepare for the upcoming academic year, and we hope to use your suggestions to enhance your Yale experience.

Free YCC Notebooks and Planners

The Yale College Council is providing students with free notebooks and planners! These can be picked up in your college's space for student publications. The costs of the notebooks and planners are covered completely by advertising, and they are printed on recycled paper.

Please only take one of each!

We hope you enjoy these! If you have any comments or suggestions, please send an email to ycceboard@panlists.yale.edu.

Fall Show Survey and Summer Projects (extended with more information)

Dear Yalies,

We hope that you’re having a fantastic summer! As your newly elected Yale College Council Executive Board, we have taken the summer as an opportunity to lay the groundwork for the upcoming year. Since May, we have been working on a variety of initiatives. Although the six of us have been communicating from different parts of the world (France, China, Hong Kong, New Orleans, Great Britain, and New Haven), we’ve been working collaboratively to improve student life here at Yale.

That being said, we’d love to share with you some of our summer projects.

The YCC's Online Resources

Are you a freshman looking for a comprehensive list of Yale's student organizations? Or are you an upperclassman looking for a list of discounts at restaurants and shops in the campus area?

We have just posted both of these lists under the "Our Online Resources" tab in the upper-right hand corner of the website. The YCC will be adding additional resources to this page as we near the start of classes, so please make sure to check it on occasion for updates!

Alternatively, click here to access these resources.

2009-2010 E-Board Profiles are up!

Personal information about each YCC E-Board officer and details on the specific roles of their positions have been posted! To see this information, go to the "About Your YCC" tab in the top-right corner of the website and click the blue link on this page.

Alternatively, click here to see the E-Board's profiles.

Welcome to the YCC's New Website!

Welcome to our new website! This will be the YCC's primary means of communication with the student body for the upcoming year.

We will post a blog entry each Sunday night - starting on August 30th - with an update of what we have accomplished each week. Additionally, we will occasionally post special entries to announce new initiatives or showcase pictures from our events. We hope that this site will allow us to minimize the number of campus-wide emails we need to send, while allowing you to have an even more in-depth understanding of what the YCC does.
